Tree Planting Project

Between feeling the effects of climate change and wood still being used to cook for the student body, United Village partnered with Uganda Martyrs Orphans Project to help fund planting over 3,000 eucalyptus trees.

Student Sponsorship

2016-present

Since 2016, United Village has partnered with Uganda Martyrs Orphans Project to support the education of university, secondary, primary, and technical students.

Construction of Water Cisterns

2023-present

Four new water cisterns were designed and built in partnership with United Village and Uganda Martyrs Orphans Project to decrease water damage and waste from run-off and help provide more water resources for students.

Interfaith Sanctuary Uganda

2016-present

In partnership with Uganda Martyrs Orphans Project, United Village has helped fund a contemplative space for students from different religious and faith traditions to study, pray, meditate, or just sit and reflect in a peaceful and quiet space.

Peace Camp International Uganda

2017-present

After several years of successful and rewarding experience by hosting Peace Camp International in Seattle, our founder, Gretchen Rowe, and Bernard Omuse, one of Peace Camp Int’l Seattle counselors and Director of Ma’s Jr. School in Tororo, Uganda, started Peace Camp International Uganda in 2017.

Day Care

2024-present

In 2024, United Village helped to fund and build a Day Care facility for young Ugandan mothers. This new daycare enables many young mothers to continue their education.

Peace Camp International Seattle

2013-present

Peace Camp International Seattle is a unique all-ages(K-12), non-denominational community day-camp experience for children and youth which takes place each Summer at the Interfaith Community Sanctuary in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Campers and counselors gather from within the Seattle community and worldwide (especially from our affiliate organizations in India and Uganda) to help integrate the beauty of the gifts within through a variety of activities. It is a wonderful way for participants to make connections with others from across the globe!
